One of the cooler abandon places in Northeast Pennsylvania is the abandon mining ghost town called Concrete City. This massive sprawling complex is situated just minuets away from Wilkes-Barre down town and easy to get to and access.
The complex itself was developed in the early 1900’s as a prototype company housing housing project for a local mining company. Although it was never populated, it was at it’s time the most sophisticated housing project of it’s time, it was in fact seen as the future of company housing in America.
Old images of Concrete City show an amazing complex with an inner social center with that is really quite impressive. Anyway these photos are from an earlier collection of mine. Photographed in 2016 by Jeremy Hetrick.
