The constellation of Orion is no longer dominant in the southern sky. It has slowly, night by night worked it’s way west. Th e Orion and Monoceros constellations house some of the most spectacular nebula in the night sky. So the will be missed.
With that being said the following imaging is a collaboration of data collected from M42 over the past several months. This winter was unforgiving, so I was not able to collect as much as I had wanted, though I did gather enough to complete this amazing imaging, of probably the most well know and beautiful nebula visible from earth.
I will be awaiting it’s return late next fall, where I will be more prepared to capture even more detailed data of this fabulous deep space object.
