Last month I was at one of my favorite bid board auctions where I found this absolutely amazing photo album dating back to 1923.
After a quick glance through this album I knew it had to have it! I was so impressed by this historical masterpiece of photographic excellence that I was willing to throw down $500 or more If need be. It is hard to really put a value on it, though I think conservatively this album could easily sell for upwards of $2500.
Thankfully though the bidding did not get to out of control and I was able to secure it for much less than $500. Me and one other bidder were the only two people in a full house interested in it. So we went back and forth a little bit up to about $25, finally he broke loose and started jumping the bid in higher increments, up to about $50. At that point I threw down a bid of $75 jumping the bid by $25 and hoping to show this guy I was serious about winning. Surprisingly that’s all it took!
You just don’t come across antique photo albums like this. It has everything! It’s themed, the photographs inside are slip fit, not glued, the entire album is put together perfectly like a picture book and then finally this it is laid out in chronological order. So the experience of paging through it is more like reading a story than shuffling through a bunch of pictures.
So this Photographic Trip starts with a photo from the Hong Kong Hotel over looking Repulse Bay and then leads into several other Hong Kong And China Views. Including a variety of landscape and portrait photos. From there you are taken on what seems like an endless journey through Asia and into Northern Africa And then Egypt where the photographer has perfectly framed views of the great pyramids and the Sphinx.
If the photographs stopped in Egypt this photographic work of excellence would be near perfection. It continues onto Switzerland and Italy and then into Europe where this fantastic trip comes to an end.
As much as I would like to hold onto to this amazing photo album, I can not. So this historic masterpiece is listed for sale in one of my Ebay stores, It can be found HERE..

Recently listed for sale is an absolutely gorgeous and vary scarce Hamilton Odyssee 2001 swiss automatic wristwatch. This watch is nearly pristine, with only the slightest signs of wear on the watch band’s clasp. The rear case closure also shows a scratch or two. Otherwise this watch looks like it is in near mint condition. Which is really unheard of!
This gorgeous Hamilton wristwatch was acquired at auction in a box lot. The box lot contained several military metals and ribbons. As well as a nice Illinois pocket watch and a vintage Tag Heuer wristwatch. The Tag Heuer is a nice watch as well, though in my opinion is nothing compared to this work of futuristic art, made possible by one of America’s foremost authority on watch making, Hamilton!
If your wondering the answer is yes, of course it was made to commemorate the release of Stanley Kurbick’s A Space Odyssey 2001 during the summer of 1968. Why Hamilton chose to name it’s watch commemorating this film differently than the film itself is beyond me.
Anyway if your a collector, or an investor this watch is it! I am absolutely sure this watch will appreciate greatly in value over the next 10, 20 or even 30 years.
The Odyssee 2001 by Hamilton is without a doubt an heirloom piece which will be operating as smoothly as it is today 100 years from now. That is of course if it is taken care of and stored in reasonable conditions. These 21 jewel swiss automatic movements are like the straight 6 engines of the jeep world. They are definitely not an 8 cylinder power house, though they will take you anywhere and out last any big block 8 banger on four wheels!
There’s a reason Super Takumar Lenses are as popular today as they were 60 years ago! Can anyone say optical excellence?
These lenses, specifically the the 50mm f1.4 though f2 and the 55mm f2 are nearly perfect. Not that I am in anyway negating any of the other super takumar lenses, because they are all superb, even by today’s standards. In fact most lenses manufactured today don’t even compare. These lenses are optically superior, super precise and built extremely tough!
The following photographs were captured using the above Super Takumar 55mm f2 m42 mount lens adapted to a canon 5D MarkII. Optically this lens is awesome. Aside from possessing super sharp, high contrast resolution. The 55mm f2, as well the entire line of Super Takumar’s and Super Multi-Coat Super Takumars focus like butter, the feeling of manually bringing a subject, or scene into focus is almost orgasmic!
You can buy the same lens I used to capture these photos here, at my Ebay store. If you’d like to purchase a different copy, feel free to search around. They are fairly easy to find.
Until next time, peace out!

Chinon CP-X DX, 35mm Film SLR Camera With Auto Winder And Chinar 28mm f2.8 Wide Angle Lens
This specific Chinon was my personal camera for a period of time. The camera body itself is in minty condition with little use. The body was new when I began using it. I probably have about 10 rolls of film through it so far with absolutely no issues. The winder that I am including has seen a little more use than the body itself. It was pulled from another Chinon I purchased from the same collection. So it does show significantly more wear than the camera body. The lens is just gorgeous and is optically perfect!
Minolta XG-1 35mm SLR Camera With Rokkor-X 45mm f2.8 Lens
Another Gorgeous 35mm SLR Camera from my collection. This XG-1 is in great condition with almost no wear and tear. This is a dependable, high performance camera that comes with a lens that is just superb in every aspect. The MD Rokkor-X 45mm f2.8 lens is silly smooth and optically perfect!
Minolta SR-T 201 SLR 35mm Camera Body With Rokinon 28mm f2.8 Wide Angle Lens
A tank of a camera that will last multiple lifetimes if properly taken care of! No BS! This camera was built to last. This is by far one of the best SLR bodies ever developed by any Japanese manufacturer. This camera specifically features very little wear and works amazingly well. As depicted in the photo above it comes with a gorgeous example of Rokinon’s early 28mm f2.8 lens which is perfect for landscape photography.
In addition to the above featured ready to use professional grade SLR 35mm film cameras I am selling a host of other camera gear. From camera lenses and bodies to flash units. So check out the rest of my inventory on Ebay. If you are looking for something specific please contact me. What I have listed is a small percentage of what I actually have in my collection.
So here is another star trail image captured using the Gopro Hero7 Black. This is a really fantastic camera that makes taking high end time lapse video, star trail images and video a breeze. Unfortunately it could be better, much better, though I will get into that in another post!
They were calling for heavy meteor activity on 7-30-2019, so I figured it would be a great opportunity to get out with the GoPro Hero 7 Black under the stars to see what it can do. So to the rooftops I went with Gopro in hand!
My setting is not what most would consider idea being in the heart of red zone. Though atmospheric condition on the 30th were perfect, or supposed to have been perfect.
When working with the go pro in conditions like this you are really limited as to what you can do. It’s not like using a DSLR, or Mirrorless camera that can be tweaked and fine tuned infinitely. Also using light pollution, or notch filters is also out of the question, though I am sure it would be easy enough to rig something up.
Because I started shooting early and allowed the camera to run through the night till early dawn. I allowed the Gopro to automatically adjust it’s shutter speed. Which in retrospect was a mistake. I also set my upper and lower ISO levels to low. To pull as much information out of the sky as possible it is critical that each frame is exposed to the max, in fact as far as the camera can be pushed without completely pushing data to the point of no return.
Despite these oversights I was able to pull enough data out of the stars to put together this nice star trail image.
Months back I lost my entire site, I had planned on re-populating my new website with all of photos and posts which I lost. Unfortunately it turned out to be a much more complicated and impossible task than I originally had though. So long story short, I am going to start republishing those photographs and posts again, one at a time.
So this photo is of the Great Orion Nebula, probably the most brilliant and easy to photograph nebula in the night sky. The data captured for this photo was collected through an 80mm ED APO telescope and a modified Canon 70D DSLR on an AVX computerized equatorial mount.
That is unless your a sadistic asshole who enjoys pissing away valuable time, money and resources! My advice is to steer clear of Facebook Marketplace! You know what steer clear of Facebook period for that matter!
Facebook Marketplace is ruled by one of the worst algorithms ever developed by any sales development team EVER! That system of shit thrown at wall is backed by a bunch unexperienced, dim witted, fragile, liberal twits who call themselves the marketplace management team!
If you’re a reseller with hundreds or even thousands of products you are looking to list, forget it! Listing more than 8 to 10 items in an afternoon will sound the alarm! In return your listings will begin getting rejected for guideline policies. Regardless of whether your selling sewing supplies, or doggy socks. Once the red flags go up, you’re a marked man, woman, he-she, or whatever you refer to yourself as.
No joke, this is what caught my attention. I was literally attempting to list a sewing basket full of sewing supplies and some other innocent, compliant merchandise I picked up from an estate sale a few months back when I noticed every listing being red flagged for listing guidelines.
You literally can not list in bulk on Facebook marketplace. This is great if your aunt Edna who is trying to sell off the family jewels to fund a gambling habit. If you are a reseller though who value his or her time, not so good!
The one thing Facebook Market place can be half decent for is sourcing for merchandise. Even that though is questionable! My last experience sourcing from the Marketplace wasn’t very productive either. The market place is dominated by sellers who don’t have a clue. Overpriced merchandise with absolutely no common sense seems to be the theme among Facebook Marketplace users. I mean when your attempting to sell a Canon 60D for $800, or a Sony A6000 for $750 that is beat to hell there really is no point in even trying.
The most ridiculous aspect to this entire shit show is that there are fairly popular Youtubers and other social mediaites who are continuing to promote Facebook Marketplace despite it’s obvious flaws! Seriously listen to the advice Leo Do gives his audience! “just relax and quit listing” He says….. LOL …….. If your not listing your not making money, if your not making money there really is no point!
So my advice and you can do with it as you like. Stay away from Facebook period, aside from the shit show of a marketplace, Facebook has become largest ghetto on the internet. It’s a huge distraction and counterproductive! If you have to sell locally, outside the realm of Amazon and Ebay. Use one of the other dozen or so popular, well executed marketplace apps out there. LetGo, 5 Miles and OfferUp are all good and 100 times more productive than the toilet of marketplace Facebook is running!
